100 years in the making

Stability in our infrastructure is the backbone of an efficient and safe community. Contractors have an important job, daily, that entails the safe erection of your communities foundations. That’s why it is so important that these professionals come together, network, and discover new ways by which they can provide their best work yet.

The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) has made this a possibility for over 100 years. Their annual AGC Convention hosts a variety of celebratory opportunities, like the AGC Celebrate Construction Party, Willis Towers Watson Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA), and much more. This event is an opportunity to acknowledge all of the hard work and accomplishments in the field of construction for the year.

This convention will be taking place in April of 2019, from the 1st through the 4th. Registration is open now and will continue until the opening day, ending at 8 pm on April 1st. Ledwell will be in attendance, located at booth number 606. Ledwell wants to provide this industry with the best, quality equipment that they can depend on. We are eager to learn how our products could be a great fit for shaping those structures that shape communities and providing safe work for those professionals.

Stop by our booth and let us know what you’re looking for in a piece of equipment. And share with us your experiences and suggestion of any of our social media pages!

Tony Carillo

Ledwell Employee Spotlight - March 2019

This month, Ledwell would like to give a big round of applause to Tony Carillo, our employee of the month for March! Tony has been with us for 29 years and counting. He’s a ray of sunshine – and that’s saying a lot considering our Texas location! He loves joking with his cohorts. In fact, his personal mantra is “me good,” a phrase he says circulates as an inside joke between himself and the rest of the guys in his shop.

He currently works in our Trailer Shop as a welder, helping develop new techniques and designs to push our equipment to the next level. When asked his fondest career memory, he recalls building Gooseneck Trailers and devising a system for locking and unlocking headboards to the trailers. He’s a part of Ledwell progression and always will be.

Tony has 4 children with his wife of 32 years, and 5 grandchildren. He says that they bring him the most joy in life. He wants to always be a grandfather, because his grandchildren keep him happy – which keeps him going each day!

His can-do attitude, respectful personality, and the pride he has in his work is what has gotten Tony where he is today. Tony has mentioned his affinity for Ledwell, saying “I love when Steve tells me good eye, Tony.” Well, Tony, we couldn’t do it without you and the rest of the our company family behind us every step of the way. Congratulations!

California is Calling

Ledwell at ARA The Rental Show

Business success is a top priority for any industry. Understanding how to manage and nurture a company is important to developing a strong, noteworthy brand. This is a universal concept, and the American Rental Association has taken the opportunity to provide this needed insight for members. From February 17th to the 20th of 2019, ARA will be hosting their annual Rental Show in Anaheim, CA.

The show will feature multiple education opportunities, such as a keynote session featuring Kevin O’Leary from the hit show Shark Tank, a Young Professionals Network Reception, a Women in Rental session, and much more. The intent is to create a stronger network between rental companies and those who support them, like manufacturers and those who use their services. The event is all about learning how to make your company the best it can be and speaking with other members of your community to understand the industry standard.

The rental industry is a very important part of the American workforce. They are the backbone of some companies, because they provide them with the means to get the job done. Otherwise some companies might not be able to function as the should, and would not be as efficient. Furthermore, people might find themselves at a loss if it were not for these types of companies.

Ledwell believes that all industries provide an essential service for the world around them. We will be attending this show in support of the rental community. We will be located at booth number 5735, eager to hear about your experiences and provide our services in any way possible. We want to learn about you.

Stop by and share your wisdom with us, and show us the way you work on social media with #lovemyledwell!

Bill Robinson

Ledwell Employee Spotlight - February 2019

Bill joined Ledwell when he was 18 years old. He spent 20 years building feed trailers before spending the last 12 in the Parts Department. Bill described himself in three words – easy going, impatient, and obsessively compulsive. He is happiest when, “Mamas happy”. When asked if he could switch jobs with any employee at Ledwell his response was, “I don’t know that I’d want anyone else’s job”.

Bill has been happily married for 31 years. He has two daughters, a son, and six grandchildren. He is very active in his personal endeavors. Bill has pastored at three churches, severed in the United States Army Reserves for 10 years, and officiated many high school football games. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting and fishing.

Bill’s favorite project to date was building a locomotive feedbody to haul sack feed several years ago. Bill has gained ample knowledge in the feed industry throughout his career at Ledwell. We are grateful to have Bill as a part of the Ledwell team. Thank you Bill for all of your dedicated years of service with us.

We’ve got you covered if you’re looking for something a little more heavy-duty. This equipment can turn any medium-duty hauling vehicle into a skid-mounted, self-contained fuel and lube service center! Much like the Lube Buddy, Jr., the Lube Buddy Max is designed in such a way as to prevent excessive spillover and ensure a long lifespan.

And we’ve decided to offer more value for your buck at the upcoming 2019 American Rental Association (ARA) show. For all attendants, Ledwell is prepared to offer a free compressor upgrade for any Lube Buddy, Jr. purchased at the show! This free upgrade will make your unit completely self-contained, eliminating chords and other protruding elements with a gas-powered compressor. With this set-up, the Lube Buddy, Jr. is your most compact and efficient piece of service equipment!

Either of these units must be moved using a forklift so as to both prevent injury and increase efficiency in the workplace. They must also always be placed on a level surface to avoid any spills and to ensure proper operation. Be sure to always read the accompanying operator manuals in regard to all pieces of equipment you own. Doing so can prevent damage to the unit and highly reduces the risk of injury during use.

Stay prepared with our Lube Buddies and other service equipment.

See you in Atlanta!

In the Community: Watersprings Ranch

Watersprings Ranch is a non-profit organization in Texarkana, Arkansas, that helps needy children. Founded in 1989 by David and Carla Whatley, the goal of the Ranch is to bring children together and help them support each other, to understand they are loved, not only by those around them but by God.

Watersprings Ranch houses almost 50 children at a time on their land. They operate as a Christian-based residential group home that extends their helping hands to children of all backgrounds. Their largest legacy resides in building safe, educational, and happy homes for children who have not had that in their past. Watersprings Ranch provides extracurricular activities, education, therapy services, and special needs services for all children in the program who need them. The goal is to provide them with a normal childhood. More than anything, the kids need to be kids, and that’s the message of the Watersprings Ranch philosophy. They are privately funded, using donations from those in the community to build a foundation for the kids. Ledwell employees, along with many other community leaders, have donated time, resources, and more to the children of this facility.
