Logistically Speaking: Liechtenstein Pumps

Ledwell Vacuum Trucks receive vacuum pumps from Liechtenstein

At Ledwell, we make every effort to deliver a superior product to our customers.

Only the best materials and parts are used to achieve this goal. Fulfilling that promise led us to a place off the beaten path where we found the perfect vacuum pumps to use on our line of vacuum equipment.

Ledwell Vacuum Truck - Rev-T for sale

Liechtenstein, a micro-state landlocked between Switzerland and Austria, is one of the most interesting places Ledwell sources parts from.

Measuring just over 62 square miles, you could fit Liechtenstein almost six times within the city limits of Dallas. Liechtenstein manufactures a large number of products used all over the world. Dietmar Kaiser, our vacuum pump vendor, is a perfect example. They ship around the globe, including Texarkana, Texas.

Dietmar Kaiser has been in business since 2003 and specializes in components and accessories for environmental equipment. Their VPC – Vacuum Pumps are highly specialized in the application of the Liquid Ring Vacuum Trucks. These unique vacuum pumps reduce gas emissions when used with certain filtration systems, including the design on the Ledwell Liquid Ring Vacuum Truck.

We’re thankful at Ledwell that we found a wonderful vacuum pump manufacturer and that our customers can continue to depend on the quality products we build, regardless of where we have to go to find the parts and pieces.

Making Traks to New Solutions

hydro excavation system from Ledwell

When it comes to your work-site equipment, one size does not fit all. In the pipeline market, rules, regulations, and other essential factors like getting from Point A to Point B play a role in what you’ll choose as your go-to unit. So many areas of the world do not allow “mechanical digging” near any underground utilities or pipelines.

Ledwell has developed a solution for these situations! The TrakVac.

The Ledwell TrakVac combines the reliability and innovation of several of our Vacuum Systems and utilizes the “Go Everywhere!” capability of the Prinoth Panther T12. This tracked vacuum unit’s specific purpose is to perform Hydro Excavation anywhere – places where an average wheeled truck can’t even begin to reach. The TrakVac functions similarly to our Blower Vacuum Truck. A high-pressure water system and 1600cfm vacuum blower come standard. With a GVWR of 55,000 pounds, the TrakVac mounted on the Prinoth Panther T12 has a ground pressure of approximately six pounds per square inch.

The Ledwell TrakVac is a self-contained unit, autonomous from the engine and fuel supply of the crawler. Geared to work alongside other tracked and heavy equipment on right-of-ways during pipeline construction and maintenance operations.

We unveiled the TrakVac in 2019 at The Utility Expo formerly known as ICUEE in Louisville, Kentucky. A record number of utility and construction professionals were able to see our latest solution for vacuum equipment. Our goal, as always, was to provide something trusted and reliable that is capable of working in a different environment. To provide a solution to an opportunity.

Since introducing our latest vacuum unit, we have manufactured a few other pieces on Prinoth crawlers. They include our TrakTrailer, Trak Pole Trailer, and Crawler Crane.

At Ledwell, we love opportunities like this.

If you have a unique situation that requires something not yet on the market or learn more about the TrakVac, give us a call today!

Ledwell manufactured Water Truck spraying

The impending dry season means more dust, dirt, and heat all around. What you need is a Water Truck – but not just any water truck, a Ledwell Water Truck. Our equipment is built to your custom needs, size and all, but Ledwell also offers a few standard features. All our trucks have lined interiors designed to prevent rusting and corrosion. We use a coating thickness of up to 20 millimeters, ensuring your unit longevity. They all also come with three fill options (top fill, hose fill, or hydrant fill) and in-cab air controls.

But we know that you don’t always need the ‘standard’ equipment. That’s why we offer a wide range of interchangeable options for you. A couple of these consist of our sparger bars and water cannon. With these, you can extend the range of your water blasts and increase reach, output and ability. These custom-made options are great for a wide range of applications, from race tracks to street cleaning. Our sparger bars come in various configurations and placement options – either stationary or folding on the front and rear side of your water truck.

But, if you’re looking for maneuverability and long reaching streams, you might want to see about our water cannons. The movement of this attachment is completely controlled by you with an in-cab joystick control and its upward placement atop the unit gives its output the gift of distance.

Some of this equipment might be new to you, and that’s okay! We’ve devised all new and improved operation manuals and videos that will walk you through working your new piece of equipment. You can find these on our website or by scanning the QR code on your Ledwell equipment. Also, be sure to visit our YouTube page and Facebook to stay in the loop on our latest and greatest!
